Your file is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to our servers. Nothing leaves your device.

How to add a watermark

  1. 1

    Add your PDF

Drag and drop a single PDF, or click to choose it.

  2. 2

    Type your watermark

Up to ~40 characters works best. Examples: CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, Sample.

  3. 3

    Adjust opacity and angle

Lower opacity for subtle, higher for prominent. 45° works for most layouts.

  4. 4

    Download

We rebuild the PDF locally with the watermark on every page.

When watermarks are useful

  • Drafts in review

Mark documents as DRAFT before circulating to avoid confusion.

  • Confidential leaks

Stamp CONFIDENTIAL before sharing sensitive contracts or financials.

  • Sample materials

Watermark portfolio samples so they can't be reused without permission.

  • Internal-only documents

Mark documents not intended for external distribution.

Limitations

  • Text watermarks only. This tool stamps text. For image or logo watermarks, use the PDF Editor mobile app.
  • Standard fonts only. We use the built-in Helvetica font so the output stays portable. Custom fonts aren't embedded.
  • Watermarks can be removed. A watermark is not legal protection. It deters casual misuse, not determined editing.
